Founded by Mr. Murray Smith, Murray Smith & Associates Engineering (MSA) opened its first office in Sacramento in 1967. Now located in Roseville, we are proud to have always been locally owned and operated with the Principal owners taking an active role as part of the engineering and survey staff. This provides a direct connection to our clients and helps to maintain the relationships we have developed with the local agencies with which we work.

MSA’s experienced managers and support staff have completed numerous infill and green-field development projects in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding foothill region. Our ability to deliver the requested engineering and surveying services in a timely and economical manner is due to our decades of experience. With over 50 years in the engineering and surveying industry, we have completed thousands of projects in many different jurisdictions. We can apply this experience to your project to make the best engineering decisions. These decisions ensure that your project is completed efficiently and construction proceeds without delay.

Principal Owners:

Murray Smith & Associates Engineering, Inc., is operated by two Principal owners. The two Principals are licensed Civil Engineers. The President, Mr. Rick Hansen – P.E., offers over 40 years of experience and has been with the firm since April of 1988. Mr. Hansen handles all of the day-to-day operations of the business including the management of all personnel as well as the public works project management. The Vice President, Ms. Michelle Sroka – P.E., brings over 20 years of experience and has worked with us since November 2015 handling all aspects of engineering from concept through construction.
